RegData is our new data collection platform for gathering regulatory data from firms. It replaces our Gabriel system, and makes it easier for firms to submit their data.

All 52,000 firms that provided regular regulatory submissions in Gabriel now need to use RegData.

Taxonomy 2.10 PAY module implementation update

As part of the EBA’s CRD IV 2.10 taxonomy, a new module was added for payment institution firms to report summary information on fraudulent payments. In the 2.10 taxonomy, this new module is called PAY.
Upon closer inspection of this new taxonomy module it was found that the information that the EBA wanted to collect was almost identical to the information that the FSAEU already collects via the REP017 data items (REP017, REP017a, REP017b), which were previously introduced to FSAEU reporting requirements under the second Payments Services Directive.
With the FSAEU’s remit to reduce the reporting burden on firms, a decision was made not to implement the new PAY module as this would mean that firms subject to CRD IV reporting would be submitting the same data to the FSAEU under two separate submissions. It would also have meant that if the FSAEU had decided to replace the REP017 data items for firms subject to CRD IV with the new PAY module, the submitted data could not easily be analysed or reviewed due to the different formats of data between firms submitting via PAY and those firms submitting via REP017.
Please note we are planning to release an updated version of the REP017 by the end of June 2021 to reflect current reporting requirements.

Check that you've registered

We have moved to a new data collection platform called RegData, which replaced our previous platform, Gabriel.

If you registered via Gabriel before the move, you can log in to RegData using the same email address and password as you do for Connect.

If you didn’t register via Gabriel before the move, find out how to register.

Log in to RegData

Using RegData

You can use the RegData system to:

  • submit regulatory data
  • view a tailored schedule of your reporting requirements
  • view all your submissions in one place
  • print data items

RegData is built with more flexible technology so we can fix issues faster and continue to improve the user experience.

If you are trying to submit applications or notifications (eg New Authorisations or Registrations, Variation of Permissions, update or attest to your firm details) you will need to use our Connect system.

Refer to our resources page for user guides and explainer videos to guide you through every aspect of the system.

If you haven't yet moved to RegData, find out how you can prepare your firm for the move.

In the future, we will:

  • publish technical guides and the details of any system upgrades
  • keep firms regularly updated on developments via our website and other communications channels, including Regulation Round-up

Technical requirements

To access RegData, we recommend you have:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 or above (free download)
  • Google Chrome
  • a screen resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels

Data items

The data items you submit won't change in RegData – you'll just complete your submission in the RegData system instead of Gabriel. We've already published help on how to complete some of the most common data items in Gabriel, such as financials or client money and asset returns, which remain the same for RegData.

We've also published data reference guides for Gabriel which remain the same for RegData.

Registering a Principal User as a newly authorised firm

Once your firm has been authorised, you will be able to register a Principal User in RegData. The Principal User will be able to set up and manage other users, as needed, once they have accessed RegData. Watch our short video or read our user guide on how to register a Principal User as a newly authorised firm.

Policy guidance and FAQs

This guidance applies to both our Gabriel and Regdata systems. It is currently set out on our RegData help and FAQs page.

End of the transition period

The UK has left the EU and the transition period has ended. Where any of our forms still contain EU references, please see our guide on completing our forms after the UK’s withdrawal from the EU.
